Begin by closing the valve to make sure that water does not get inside the bladder. Use a down soap such as Grangers Down Wash. Supermarket laundry ‘soap’ will leave residue in the down which may prevent it from lofting properly. Add the Down Wash to warm water, immerse the pillow and knead it gently with your hands.

Once you’re confident that the pillow is clean, repeat the above procedure with clean water to rinse the soap from the pillow’s face fabric; you may need to rinse a couple of times.

Squeeze the excess water from the face fabric, then hang the pillow up to air dry. You should shake the pillow from time to time to prevent the down from forming into clumps. The down may take longer to dry thoroughly than the fabric of the pillow - make sure the whole pillow is completely dry before you store it to prevent mould or mildew.

Do not dry the pillow in a tumble dryer, as this could damage the TPU bladder.

How to store your pillow:
Store it flat or loosely rolled up with the valve open. It is essential to avoid long-term storage of the pillow tightly packed in its stuff sack with the valve closed – any trapped moisture (from condensation) can weaken the bladder.
